babies with special needs. -Job Information:
- Responsible for the overall operations and management of
Emergency Management throughout the organization
- Plans, develops, coordinates, conducts, trains, implements, and
maintains systemwide emergency management activities
- Responsible for the participation and final recommendations for
the budget process and compliance on emergency management/disaster
supplies and equipment
- Participates in AHCA, TJC, DOH, and county/state surveys and
inspections on emergency and disaster management
- Manages communication and tasks between Engineering,
Environment of Care Committee, Government agencies, and departments
within the hospital
- Participates in off-site government functions related to
Emergency and Security management, and implements programs and
procedures related to these functions
- Coordinates providing warnings and emergency data to the
organization and providing operational and technical support to
leadership before, during, and after emergency situations
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
to small and large groups within and outside of the hospital
- Knowledge of hospital Emergency Management, safety, security,
emergency response practices, The Joint Commission, NIMS, and AHCA
guidelines (local, regional, state, federal, and
accreditation)
- Demonstrates and assures a professional, cooperative
interaction with all hospital departments, medical staff,
regulatory agencies, city and county employees (EMS, Fire, Police
dept) and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of

Qualifications
- Degree in Emergency Management/Preparedness, Disaster
Management, Public Safety, or closely related field required
- 2 years of experience in emergency management, emergency
preparedness, emergency operations, safety, or related field
- Trained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation
in disaster exercises. Ability to evaluate and act independently
regarding safety issues, deficiencies, failures of equipment,
etc.
- Completion of FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800 level courses
- Completion of NIMS 300 and 400 level courses within one year of
hire
- Trained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation
